American Medical Association

digital ads.
multi-campaign management.

Joining the world of design in the healthcare space with the American Medical Association was a enlightening journey. Starting as dedicated support for the lead designer, I evolved to take ownership of specific channels, driving the creation and execution of impactful digital ads across diverse grassroots initiatives. In the past year I led up design effort for a gaming product for the grassroots brand, Truth in Rx.

Below you’ll find the intersection of design and healthcare advocacy, where every pixel and campaign breathes life into meaningful engagement and communication.

Patients Action Network

Formed in 2004, the Patients’ Action Network (PAN) unites over 1.6 million advocates nationwide, dedicated to enhancing healthcare accessibility through impactful policy changes. PAN’s grassroots advocacy involves collaborating with legislators and healthcare experts to bolster the patient-physician dynamic, eliminate treatment barriers, and broaden healthcare access. Noteworthy achievements include gathering over 1 million petition signatures, sending 500,000 emails, making 100,000 calls to Congress, and mobilizing 6 million social actions, amplifying their impact across diverse platforms.

#FixPriorAuth

The AMA champions reforming prior authorization, a practice linked to care delays and adverse patient outcomes, the #FixPriorAutho campaign has a goal to shed light on its impact. Understanding the necessity of hearing from affected patients, the strategy involved an emotional appeal to gather compelling narratives, employing targeted social communication to foster a supportive community for individuals, physicians, and stakeholders to share their experiences. The approach, rooted in storytelling, not only simplified intricate policies but also fostered an engaged platform, amplifying voices and facilitating a dialogue around the challenges of prior authorization.

Physicians Grassroots Network

The Physicians Grassroots Network (PGN) originated in 2003, uniting physicians driven by a shared mission to empower their community and dismantle bureaucratic barriers in American healthcare. Today, boasting over 30,000 dedicated physicians, residents, and medical students, the PGN remains resolute in fortifying medicine's influence within the corridors of Washington. Through collaborative grassroots endeavors, PGN constituents collaborate with lawmakers and healthcare experts, aiming to innovate the patient-physician dynamic, streamline care procedures, and safeguard the future of the medical field. Their concerted advocacy efforts have culminated in over 7 million engagements on social media by physicians, 200,000 emails from physicians to Congress, and 65,000 phone calls placed by physicians to Congress, resonating across the nation.

Truth in Rx

This AMA advocacy campaign illuminates the concerning surge in drug prices, affecting us all. Our focus has sharpened on Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs), unveiling the opaque strategies employed by PBMs, health insurers, and manufacturers. Their maneuvers leave patients and doctors uninformed about drug costs, while these entities reap profits. Consequently, patients frequently face exorbitant prices, hindering access to vital medications. It's imperative that patients understand the rationale behind drug pricing. That’s why in this campaign, we demand transparency in drug pricing.
